Before being completely rebuilt in 1998, the Shaw Theatre originally opened its doors in 1971 as part of the St Pancras Library. The venue is now fully refurbished with 446 comfortable seats, all commanding an excellent view of the stage. It has two large foyers, six large dressing rooms for up to 60 people and extensive high quality backstage facilities which include a props store, workshop space and laundry facilities.
For members of the public there is full disabled access, excellent cloakroom facilities and a large bar serving drinks and refreshments.
Conveniently situated next to The British Library and walking distance from the magnificent St. Pancras Station buildings, The Shaw is situated in the heart of the redevelopment and regeneration area of Kings Cross and St Pancras.
The theatre forms part of the 4 Star Novotel Hotel on Euston Road, providing further facilities such as restaurant, café bar and accommodation. Our special relationship with the management of Novotel means as part of our service we are able to arrange on your behalf favourable room rates for visiting companies subject to seasonal availability.
As you would expect being part of a hotel the building is welcoming, the theatre has its own entrance clearly signed and visible from Euston Road. The theatre is fully air conditioned, light and spacious. The theatre and box office staff are highly trained in customer service, experienced onsite technical staff and the management team will make themselves available to you ensuring your stay meets your expectations.
Shaw Theatre has excellent GET OUT and GET IN facilities accessible from the back of the theatre and capable of receiving HGV and trailer vehicles. Flat access for both patrons and company staff.
The auditorium is spacious while retaining a level of intimacy, furbished to a very high standard and perfect for all forms of entertainment and corporate use.
